Review of Saving Mr. Banks (2013) by Rachael H — 29 Jan 2015
Initially I had thought this would be more or less a 2 hour whirlwind of two great actors putting on an acting showcase, drenched in a healthy amount of Disneyana. It was a pleasant surprise, whilst both of those things still existed, that there was actually a real sense of pathos and sadness at it's core.
I think that helped elevate the film to something other than a throwaway piece of self gratifying trash from Disney. Pretty decent.
