Review of Saving Mr. Banks (2013) by Don S — 23 Dec 2015
A tribute to the single-mindedness of Walt Disney. Hanks, excellent as usual, portrays the legend in a touching, human manner. Though I think the Disney empire has changed philosophies since he passed, in these simpler times I do think it was about making people happy and putting out a great product.
Now it's just a money grab. Thompson was imminently unlikable as PL Travers, but that was the point. Too long and somewhat boring in parts, but overall I still enjoyed it very much.
