Review of Saving Face (2004) by The Original Tia Of F — 14 Apr 2007
I caught this movie late last night after dealing with another bout of sleeplessness and though I had no intention of watching the whole film I did just that. The main thing that held me was that it had been a while since I have seen Joan Chen in a film and I love her and she was excellent.
The story is a familiar scenario, traditional conflicting with the non-traditional and mother-daughter relationships but it came off nicely and wasn't a rehack of some earlier film, it had a freshness to it that kept me watching and the situations throughout make you laugh at how universal they are to everyone.
The ending was great and really capped off the film, so dont turn it off once the credits start rolling there is a bit more to see.
