Review of Saving Capitalism (2017) by David K — 11 Sep 2018
Part back patting nostalgia, part woe is me man on the street interview; There are very few points made in this ego trip that resonate. Crony capitalism and capitalism by lobbyist are truly scourges and not real capitalism just a mild version of state managed economics. Sure the system is "rigged" but many of us allow ourselves to act like victims of this "rigged" system. Government is in bed with big business and neither major party is going to kill the goose that lays those golden eggs. If you choose to work in a low skill dead end job and spend your money on cell phones and Starbucks, you will never get ahead. There are loads of jobs out there for people which have decent wages and benefits and don't require anything above a GED.
One final jab at this movie; did Robert Reich just take "Capitalism: a love story" and just put his name on it. Many of the video clips and about half of the points he is trying to make were done almost word for word by Micheal Moore almost a decade ago.
