Review of Saved (2009) by Aaron F — 24 Nov 2009
Every Christian should see this, and no non-Christian should lay eyes on it. It takes the hypocrisies and idiosyncrasies that so often plague the Church/Christian schools/Christian organizations/Christians themselves and magnifies them in an attempt to expose the repulsiveness of it all.
And it does so very well. Actually going to a Christian school, I see these sorts of things all the time...oh, no, not the "big bad" sins portrayed in the movie, but the hypocrisy and double standard that accompanies them.
I myself find it sometimes easy to fall into that complacent mindset. This film should serve as a wake-up call to Christians. This is how the modern world sees Christians and this is how people react.
The implications of that are at once eye opening and disturbing.
