Review of Saved! (2004) by Joel A — 08 Mar 2009
This film is a sour reminder of how proud, ungracious and unloving some Christians can be. I have issues with some of the messages that this film come out with but all in all this film challenged me. It amazes me that us Christians can sometimes go around with so much self righteousness when Christ condemned those who had it.
One big criticism that this movie got from Christians is that none of the Christians in this picture were portrayed in a positive way. Well as the director said in the commentary, Roland was exactly that.
So the film raises some important issues and I think anyone who's a church going Christian should watch it. It isn't a clean film (there is some swearing & sex) but it's challenging. Also there's real funny moments especial when Hilary Faye throws her bible at Mary and scream "I'm filled with Christ's love".
