Review of Savages (2012) by Adam A — 05 May 2014
Based on the book by maybe my favorite crime writer, Don Winslow, who co wrote the script (with Oliver Stone). Movie was pretty much just like the book except with the added colorful cinematography, and cool California music. Some acting was a little over the top, and for some reason John Travoltas, Benicio's and Salma's hair styles/wigs were very distracting. Oliver Stone was a good match for the subject matter: pot industry, drug cartel, California livin.
Looking forward to the Boone Daniels rumored tv series, also based on a couple of Don Winslow books.
