Review of Savages (2006) by Brandon T — 10 Jan 2009
Excellent film about a brother and sister coming together to care for their estranged and ailing father. Brilliantly written, acted and filmed. What was particularly refreshing was the writer-director's idea to keep the story raw and realistic without being gratuitously symbolic, but at the same time, tender without being overtly sappy and sentimental.
I always love Philip Seymour Hoffman, but Laura Linney was also perfect for her role.
