Review of Savage Grace (2007) by Chris C — 14 Jul 2008
More impressive than enjoyable, but still worth a look out of curiosity value. The film's greatest achievement is also it biggest problem; the director captures the aimless boredom of the rich and the beautiful amazingly well, but that results in a film that is a bit on the aimless and boring side.
Even the horror of the final act feels pretty distant. Still, Julianne Moore is fantastic as always and it's an interesting experience to hear an entire cinema gasp in collective disbelief.
