Review of Savage Grace (2007) by Jk F — 22 Aug 2008
Nicely shot and beautifully acted, but a bit like Tom Kalin's much earlier Swoon, I didn't have a clue what this was supposed to be about even though I followed it quite happily all the way through (and assume that the basic 'facts' are presented fairly accurately).
Julianne Moore is as fantastic as ever and it's impressive to see that relative newcomers like Eddie Redmayne can stand up to her, but apart from some dusty academic contemplation on new queer cinema in Sight & Sound or an excited review in Gay Times, what was I supposed to get from this?
