Review of Sausage Party (2016) by Robert B — 15 Nov 2016
Sausage Party is everything you can expect from a raunchy comedy from Seth Rogen and the producers that have done This is the End. It is stupid, weird, and funny at times. Sure if you can enjoy the sexual jokes, stereotyping humor on food, and the gags every now and then. One must wonder if Seth Rogen was stoned for this origin of an idea and walking in a grocery story and coming up with a concept idea of food having feelings. Basically, the plot were food have minds of their own. Believe that the gods ( humans) are choosing them to go to the next path when they leave the store. But only to face the truth that they are being ripped to shreds and cooked and eaten.
The plot is odd and stupid. But its funny. Seeing Frank, who is a sausage witnessing food being ripped apart when they have fallen off the cart. The scene looking like a graphic war battle scene. As the food characters are facing the terror. One thing for a warning note if parents havent picked up the idea that its from the producers that did a raunchy comedy movies or rated R. The animated movie is not for kids, characters use a lot of profanity, has adult humor, and a strange food orgy scene.
I love most of Seth Rogens work, but Sausage Party is suppose to be hilariously odd and fun for an animated movie. But feels like the humor and gags would only be enjoyed once with this film. Otherwise, there is not much worth noting to carry on the jokes from. Love how these characters are stereotyped in a way, and odd crazy direction the film takes which makes it random. But makes it nothing more but a rental if you want to laugh at something stupid which is what the movie aims for.
