Review of Sausage Party (2016) by Houa C — 20 Oct 2017
The fact that this film scored this high is quite astonishing. Frankly, I found it funny how this isn't considered porn. It's clear to see what Rogan and his team were going for here. Maybe the worst thing about this film is how misleading the trailer was but honestly, what trailer isn't misleading nowadays.
To be fair though, the film had a lot of promises. For one it is way smarter and easily goes over the head of most of it's intended audience. Trust me on this, when I went to see the film I saw more people laughing at the food porn scene or all the sex and drug joke more than the actual jokes of the film.
Like how most people in the theatre didn't get that the food porn scene was poking fun at "food porn" craze during the time or all the jokes about Isreal and Pakistan. There were some great concepts that if was play out better could have made an amazing new-age cartoon film.
To bad Seth Rogan had to go the Seth Rogan route and made it into a movie about sex and drugs. Seriously, the movie was about how a hotdog couldn't wait to be put inside a hotdog bun....sad honesty what wasted potential.
