Review of Sauna (2008) by Karl M — 18 Jan 2010
Swedish and Russian parties discover a village in the middle of a swamp where no village is marked, and the two Swedish brothers have some very disturbing experiences. At the end of the day, this movie is creepy and disturbing, but not a horror film in the modern sense.
It's much more about the evil that people do, and the price they have to pay to atone for their sins. Well done, and will likely leave you wondering what just happened. Lots of symbolism and things left for the viewer to wonder about.
