Review of Sauna (2008) by Murder C — 10 Jan 2010
The year is 1595 and the war between Russia and Sweden (the part that now is Finland) has come to an end. Two brothers, Eerik (Ville Virtanen) who have killed 73 people and Knut (Tommi Eronen) are on an expedition to remap the borders when they come across a mystical village and a sauna that is rumoured to be able to wash away your sins.
Well directed and acted with a dark and eerie feeling, "Sauna" could have been something, but everything falls apart as the movie makes little to no sense (especially at the end), I just didn't get it, and because of that, I sadly can't rank it higher.
