Review of Saturday Night Fever (1977) by Crissie J — 08 Feb 2011
By no means a classic, but considering what it is and why it was made it deals with some big issues, although not comprehensively. The music is good as we know, but the dancing is shit. The brief allusions to drug culture, racism and rape lend this an air of higher art, but the failure to make a real issue of them condemns it to a three star meh.
Not bad, but wouldn't go out of my way to see it again.
