I saw this in the sixties and was unimpressed with the cinematics but realised that it was ground breaking when I saw it again in 2007. Accents are crap - being a Nottingham man myself - but the grit and the summation of factory/terraced house/busy body/nosey parker/in your pocket/working class life is brilliant.
