Review of Satan's Little Helper (2005) by Jeff B — 16 Mar 2010
This was such a weird film, and I felt sure that I would be giving it such a poor review. Having seen the opening few minutes, my mind hadn't changed, but thought it could be quite comical if nothing else.
However, the more the film developed, the more engrossed I became, and what started off as a bumbling villain soon turned into quite a sinister character. The storyline was surprisingly clever in parts and involved numerous twists towards the end of the film, which to my disbelief, made it more and more watchable.
It was lacking special effects, especially surrounding any death scenes, but that just brought a few laughs and didn't take too much credibility away from the film. As it wasn't based on your average slasher, it didn't focus too much on the gore, and i'd probably best describe this as Halloween meets Home Alone.
Very unusual, but definitely worth a watch.
