Review of Saraband (2003) by Andrew D — 17 Oct 2007
This is a quietly tragic film with, what seems to me, a typically Scandinavian restraint - in dialogue, music, in the colour palette and in the emotions of the actors. The characters in this story are broken lonely people in whom we have no difficulty believing.
And because this film is never for a moment flippant or trite, there can be no easy resolution.
