Review of Santa's Slay (2005) by Brody M — 13 Nov 2009
Absurd horror-comedy romp about Santa (who happens to be a repressed, millenia-old demon) terrorizing a small town, and two kids who have to try and stop him. Marginally fun, for the most part; "Santa's Slay" has some creative kill scenes and actors who are self-aware they're in a crappy movie, therefore turning some funny performance; Mr.
Goldberg being the highlight with his over-the-top Santa. The problem is, most of the film's humor falls flat most of the time; it's too ridiculous to be scary or funny...unfortunately ending up in the wannabe cult-favorite territory.
If seeing Fran Drescher getting ignited and drowned in egg nog is your idea of a good time, well...you know...
