Review of Santa Claus: The Movie (1985) by Matt K — 17 Nov 2008

A very interesting movie, it is sometimes very magical, and sometimes very funny, but most of the time it is dull and boring, which is exactly what you don't want with your Santa Epic that's supposed to be crammed with warm-fuzzy holiday cheer! John Lithgow alone makes this worth watching though, too bad he's only in the second half.

The first half concerns the "origin story" of Santa, the movie tries to treat him like some sort of superhero. The basic plot outline is actually exactly like Superman the Movie. So, interesting, sometimes great, must mostly boring and cheesy.
