Review of Sans Soleil (1983) by Donovan D — 27 Sep 2007
The most interesting and brilliant of the two Marker films I have seen (though less accessible than La Jetee), Sans Soleil's blending of documentary and fiction, and its deep interest in time and memory marks it as a truly unique cinematic experience that is both anthropological and artistic.
Highly recommended for viewers looking to poke their toes into the waters of avant-garde filmmaking.
