Review of Sans Soleil (1983) by Nariflix N — 29 Aug 2009
4 stars but I could only stand to sit through this once. Very slow paced and contemplative pseudo-documentary loosely about world cultures and memory. It's like Waking Life, but with real documentary footage behind the meandering conversation.
Super pretentious. Some of the philosophical musings strike me as weak, or just pretty language & hollow poeticism--but I kind of like pretty language short on the details, so it works. Dreamlike food for thought.
