I didn't see this movie in 3-D, so I can't speak to that. But I have to say the plot of the movie was very simple. Trapped in a cave---try to get out. However it seemed to me the meat of the story was the main character, Frank, doing assisted suicide with injured team members.

It could have been done with more in depth 3-D compassion, instead the actor and director makes Frank come off as a pig-headed bully I wanted to beat with an oil drum. If the cave was as dangerous as he's always making it out to be, throughout the movie, then why the hell did he let amatures tag along? Why the hell did they take a chance with a major storm approaching only 2 days away? It should have been common sense to know that the water was going to end up draining into the cave.

Anyway, I was glad Frank got what he deserved at the end.
