Review of Sanctum (2011) by Cailin T — 07 Aug 2011

This film was so bad that I didn't finish it, so I feel as though I can't give it a truly proper review.

However, the fact that the movie was so bad that we had to fast-forward through 50% of it just to get through it should say something about its level of awfulness.

It was like one of those crappy straight-to-DVD disaster movies you see on Netflix Instant Streaming that you debate watching out of sheer boredom and curiosity, but ultimately decide against when you remember that you'll never be quite that bored.

Made to be a 3D gimmick, I'd imagine, this movie is the perfect example of the destructive force that is 3D filmmaking. Instead of writing stories that need to be told with characters that need to be explored, we're creating heaps of flat garbage that just happen to pop out at the screen now and then. Whoopie.
