Review of San Andreas (2015) by Omar L — 27 Dec 2015
Panned critically but successful commercially, "San Andreas" is actually one of the better disaster films made. Yes, there are characters whose sole purpose in the movie is to die, and other characters are painted in such broad strokes that their dialogue writes itself, but there is no needless pontificating, no unnecessary message of "you should listen to scientists!" that was so prevalent in disaster movies like "The Day After Tomorrow" and "2012.
" The effects are absolutely spectacular, and the action pieces are very well done.
