Review of San Andreas (2015) by Dragonsfoe . — 02 May 2016
An earthquake of disappointment.
San Andreas is the typical disaster movie, using Emmerich cliches like divorced parents, and a damaged family, and the momÃÃ,Ã,Ã,Ã,¢(TM)s douche boyfriend. This evidence claims that the film definitely lacks originality. With mediocre set pieces and cheesy one-liners the filmÃÃ,Ã,Ã,Ã,¢(TM)s biggest benefit is the Rock.
The Rock the only person that makes this film better than it actually is. The actor is so charismatic and likeable it's impossible to dislike him in any movie. The action is also enjoyable at times, even if it feels uninspired, as a distraction to convince the audience to keep on watching.
This film is very predictable and is riddled with cliches. A person could catch himself finishing the sentences due to the fact the the dialogue is very predictable. If there was one world to describe this film it would be ÃÃ,Ã,Ã,Ã,¢unoriginalÃÃ,Ã,Ã,Ã,¢? or ÃÃ,Ã,Ã,Ã,¢predictable.ÃÃ,Ã,Ã,Ã,¢? Just anything along those lines.
Overall this film is something ripped out of EmmerichÃÃ,Ã,Ã,Ã,¢(TM)s rejected ideas. Even Johnson, could not save this movie filled with dozens of action set pieces. This unoriginal, predictable and convenient film is not one worth rewatching (unless you just want to make fun of it for 2 hours.).
Rating: 6.2 (C-).
