It’s not a 10 but the low ratings are undeserved. I saw this the same week as I saw Godzilla and it’s a much better movie than that. I didn't even see it at the cinema and I still thought it was great. If you love the Rock you'll love it, if you don't you probably won't.
It’s a tremendous disaster movie. SFX are as good as I've ever seen. Acted with great conviction with a satisfying conclusion. Yes it is formulaic and the story isn't too demanding but I rate that as a plus. A movie you can watch with the whole family.
It’s the Californian nightmare scenario and everyone gets their just deserts even the Hollywood sign. The big one will hit one day, it’s overdue so they say in the movie. If you live in San Francisco I'd be worried..
