Mifune's career doesn't begin and end with Kurosawa: Samurai Rebellion is an outstanding samurai revenge epic.
Mifune proves his range as an actor even within the confines of the samurai role. No longer the somewhat comedic Sanjuro character of Yojimbo and Sanjuro fame, Mifune reveals depth and complexity in his depiction of the father.
