Review of Samurai Cop (1991) by Jon P — 03 Apr 2015
Loaded with futile fight scenes, abysmal acting and a headache of a soundtrack, Amir Shervan's buddy cop movie stretches bad taste to breaking point.
A must-see for fans of so-bad-it's-good cinema, the film plays like an inept exercise in inconsistency. Sets and actors' surroundings miraculously change mid-punch-up, close-ups are shot of characters clearly not present within scenes, and every single frame appears to differ in lighting and saturation from the last.
Amidst a script of genuine nonsense and shots of Matt Hannon and Robert Z'Dar looking lost, the whole film is jam-packed with low-budget laughs. An absolute shambles from start to finish.
