Review of Samson and Delilah (2009) by Private U — 15 Aug 2009
3.7 - Saw this low budget Aussie flick at Nova in Carlton today and it really impressed me... The films story is a simple one, a love story between Samson, a petrol sniffing aboriginal boy and an aboriginal girl named Delilah.
. Theres a lot to recommend here, the film did an exellant job of showing what it's like in an isolated outback town, taking me into a world that is far different than my own, and letting me understand the experiences of these two characters.
. theres hardly any dialogue in this film and I think this really adds a lot to showing the alienated lives that these kids lead, many scenes show seemingly nothing and yet contribute so much to the film as a whole.
.. the main complaints I would be that I really diddnt dig all the country music featured in this film and that I dont think the ending was as strong as it could have been.
