Review of Samson and Delilah (2009) by Daniel B — 04 Jul 2010
Yet another superb Australian film. Beautiful shot, very understated, well acted but very bleak and real with almost no dialogue. Credited at several film festivals for good reason. It's harrowing and informative and also depicts Aboriginal life in Australia perfectly.
It's painful to watch just how impossible such an existence can be and how the road to self destruction is often a likely one. Despite moments of bleak humour it is not however the easiest viewing in the world.
