Review of Same Kind of Different as Me (2017) by Bobby T — 17 Oct 2017
Had not heard of book and don?t typically go to movies at all, so my review is not going to be representative. Overall, I enjoyed it, and cried like a baby for the last 30 minutes or so. This movie works well as an exhortation to believers to put their faith into more daily practice.
My sense is that it doesn?t intend to convert dedicated secularists, and doesn?t disparage those who dedicate themselves to service based on humanism. It felt shorter than its running period, and the acting was consistently fine.
My main criticism is that everyone seemed almost too saintly, with the exception of Ron and his dad, and even his dad becomes redeemed at the end.
