Review of Salvador (1986) by Alex M — 08 Mar 2004
Meggy and I watched a film for Philosophy class...
Salvador (Stone, 1986) - ***.
James Woods gives an Oscar-nominated performance in this, one of Oliver Stone's better films. He is a photojournalist in El Salvador getting pictures for the right-wing US military of "the rebels." Part of the struggle is between Woods taking pictures of what he believes not to be the "true" story. He also has a girlfriend in El Salvador that he must try to get out of the country so she will not be killed. This was "based on a true story.".
