Most of the actors and actresses were non-professionals giving clunky readings, but the leads Rosaura Revueltas and Juan Chacón more than made up for it. I got choked up at a few parts, and cheered when the mass of picketing wives of miners pulled cops out of their charging cars and sent them packing.
