Review of Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (2012) by Mira P — 23 May 2013
After twenty minutes, I was worried that this acclaimed comedy would just be a comedy, that didn't even make me laugh. But with time passing by, the message of the movie, that a dream must be followed and that faith in your dream is everything, becomes more evident, and in the end it's a nice watch.
The only doubt I didn't manage to suppress are on the character of Kristin Scott Thomas. She is used to act in more serious roles and, also if it's not a drama to make a comedy, her character was really stupid and nonsense, and the scenes in which she was chatting with the Prime Minister are a ridiculous imitation of some Under15-Collegiate B-Movie, too bad to be true!
