Salmon Fishing in the Yemen is a delightful, eccentric British romantic comedy based on the loony idea of introducing British salmon into Yemeni wadis. Emily Blunt and Ewan McGregor play the love interests who face more obstacles than the fish.
Send-ups of British government bureaucracy, featuring Kristin Scott Thomas, provide diversion. Beautiful photography of the fish add visual punctuation. Some suspension of disbelief is required, but the film is charming.
