Review of Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (2012) by Nigel E — 28 Dec 2014
Fairly different from the book - the political satire was done pretty well and translated across well, I also liked how the spiritual side was communicated - what was noticeable was the emphasis placed on the rom-com element.
I suppose this is to be expected, and I did enjoy it to an extent, but it felt a bit disjointed with the many different tones. That being said I still thought it was a great film was some fab performances.
I particularly liked Ewan McGregor as Alfred - although he is younger than in the book, he still brought the essence of the character to life in an endearing way.
