Review of Saints and Soldiers (2003) by David G — 18 Mar 2008
Not too bad a behind-enemy-lines war movie but the characters were beyond generic (big farm boy, seasoned NCO, Brooklyn New Yorker), the action plodding and dull and I found it pretty amazing how things would spawn out of thin air whenever they were needed: weapons, a jeep.
I did like how the film showed that not all German soldiers were cackling, monocle-wearing, concentration-camp running, Nazi fanatics though.
