Review of Safe House (2012) by Roni F — 19 Aug 2012
The idea is quite original in some ways, but the script does not stretch quite far enough and fails to exploit what should have been a very meaty subject. It's not just paranoid and conspiracy-theory-ish, it's border line dumb and naive about the realities and complexities of human nature and the espionage world.
Thanks to Reynolds, who, outside of the gross out comedy genre, is really becoming an accomplished actor and is perfect as the incorruptible second class spy, it is a good watch.
