Review of Safe Haven (2013) by Jason C — 16 May 2013
The good News: the first Nichols Sparks movie I didn't hate. Also, the highest I've ever rated one.
The bad News: it's still a Nicholas Sparks movie book. The plot is super predictable and way over the top. Real life, and especially love, doesn't happen this way.
Disclaimer: it might have gotten half of a start just for having josh dumhel. He's a pretty, down to earth, good actor. Also, Julianne Hough is definitely easy on the eyes, but not the best actress. Hoover, spreading if acting Mimi Kirkland (playing lexi-the younger daughter) is adorable and fires a great job on her role. Probably worth another half star. So the movie is more like one star. Again, this is probably just a movie for couples and more specifically those that are forced to watch them by their girlfriends (at least we get done brownie points, guys).
