Review of Sadgati (1981) by Lynda M — 25 Mar 2009
Impressive even frightening film, mostly in a psychological way. From the duelling banjo's to the rapids, the disturbing hillbillies to the rape scene, it all keeps you in an uncomfortable state. The 4 some all put in excellent performances, even from Burt Reynolds.
The tension dims quite a lot after the end of the 'hunt' where Voight is now tortured by his own memories which is less effective. Still a good film to watch, particularly if you are thinking or going hunting in the middle of nowhere.
