Review of Sadgati (1981) by Frank M — 16 Jan 2010
City Slickers With Male Anal Rape? A brilliant film, uncomplicated plot of four white collar friends setting off for their annual wilderness adventure, this time through the Georgian Appalachians, by canoe.
They encounter 'the locals' shall we say, and thereafter one understands why Australians use the term 'feral' to describe their equivalent. This movie stands the test of time as Boorman's ability to create tension serves him well.
Male bonding, loyalty, friendship and betrayal are at the forefront, but don't forget to watch the awesome countryside along this wild river.
