Review of Sadgati (1981) by Marcus W — 23 Apr 2010
I do find it annoying to be told consistently how great a film is, watch it, and see nothing but flaws.
Great photography? Check. Great acting from Voight and Reynolds? Check. Great plot? No.
Sure, the whole pre Fight Club men finding their primal instincts is interesting but what little story there is is weak. Take the fight on the cliff. I watched it three times to try and figure out where that arrow came from, and no it wasn't from Voight as he chucked his away. The editting appears to have been done by a five year old - while running with scissors. There were too many continuity errors to count, especially with regards to the time of day. How it became a "classic" is anyones guess.
