Review of Sadgati (1981) by Jake D — 01 Jul 2011
Well thinking this film would mostly be about Jon Voight, and Burt Reynolds wooping some Hillbilly ass going into it really had me stoked. Than about an hour into it I thought well maybe they're going to save it for an epic conclusion. I hate to break it to all of you who were expecting the same as what I did, but he thing is the movie is more about survival, and coming to terms with the actions we take, and whether or not we should cover up our decisions.
The movie is definitely a darker tone, than most films you'll see, but there are moments that can be quite boring as well. However the thing that keeps you watching is Jon Voight he gives a really good performance.
A lot of people told me I needed to see this film, and I don't feel the necessity towards it, it's still a pretty descent watch that is definitely worth checking out over most of todays crap filled "3-d extravaganzas". It's a good film, but if you really want to see city folk vs hillbillies than watch Wrong Turn 1, but skip the sequels. Otherwise as far as Deliverance goes I'd say see it.
