Progress is destroying the river and a couple buddies decide they need to canoe down the river before its gone forever. They end up in a battle with the inbred local yokel mountian men along the route who know the region better than they do. We could have done without the Pig scene. LOL.
Out of all the famous actors in this movie, the Banjo Boy on the porch was my absolute favorite character. I went in search for more movies of him and discovered he was also in BIG FISH 2003, but for his day job. His name is Billy Redden and for years he operated a tour of the river after the movies release. 30 people have died riding the river, and Billy finally gave up the tour business and works as the cook and dishwasher at the Cookie Jar in Clayton, GA. Billy's Nickname is the "BANJO MAN".
