Review of Sadgati (1981) by Timothy A — 21 May 2015
Delivers (snigger) one of cinema's greatest punchlines, as well as one of its greatest late-coming-of-age stories. Both serves as a warning to the middle classes that they can't always extend themselves downwards to a primal level, and an argument that the fortitude for survival might just lay dormant in those who seem most attuned to the suburban jungle, and leaves it to the audience to make up their own mind.
Voigt and Reynolds both give performances that remind you why they've had careers spanning decades.
