Review of Sadgati (1981) by Steve T — 02 Jul 2015
Every time I watch this movie, I pick up new clues and I am further compelled to look up more back story on all of the communities, rapids, and rivers that are all now underwater relics in the valleys of Tennessee and Georgia that were lost to Rural Electrification.
Many communities along the Georgia-South Carolina line were at a stand still from the depression all the way to the late 60's and early 1970's. It was almost like they were waiting for the dams and newly formed lakes to wash them away.
Oh - and one more thing. Now is the time to watch the movie with your Millennial-aged children who have never seen the movie and do not understand where the joke "Squeal like a Pig" originates.
Make sure they are at least teenagers, however.
