Review of Sabotage (2014) by Tom R — 30 Mar 2014
Ahnuld has always been a terrible actor and his extended hiatus has just made him worse. Yet for some inexplicable reason, even though he's always the worst part of all his movies, they usually work. Clearly anything with bullets and explosions will hold my interest but Ahnuld is special.
Now this version of Ahnuld is different. This film is darker and way more violent than usual. Most of AS previous movies are violent but rather ridiculous as well. In this one the graphic and overt nature of the killings and torture are more Saw than Commando.
The story is a total mess and for the most part inexplicable. It tries to get smart and sneak on you but if you're paying attention it's predictable and silly.
I don't think this is a movie for anyone that has an emotional IQ beyond that of a 13 year old so it was perfect for me. If you're not mentally a teenager, avoid it. If you are, it will be enjoyable.
