Review of Sabotage (2014) by Colin N — 22 Jul 2014
I really wanted to enjoy this film but there are was just one thing that ruined it for me, its let down by its conclusion, I wont go into specifics but the final reveal feels like its show horned into it, the actor in question cannot carry of the much needed empathy that is needed to give that plot point any gravitas at all.
But if it wasnt for that it would be a really good action film. There are plenty of gun fights, splatters of blood and a decent level of foul language, but its just that final reveal that undoes everything that came before it.
There are a few twists but they are executed so quickly its hard to care. Mireille Enos last seen as Brad Pitts wife in the awful World War Z is brilliant as is the rest of the supporting cast, but its Arnie that lets it all down.
If his role was recast with Jason Statham (even though I don't like him that much) then I'm sure I would've enjoyed it more, he is a better actor than Arnie, though not by much. Worth seeing, not really.
