Review of Sabotage (2014) by Chintz Z — 29 Oct 2014
Certainly a throwback to classic Schwarzenegger films like Raw Deal, Sabotage has some good moments and is a passable action flick. That said, it is nothing incredibly memorable and comes off as a paint-by-numbers narrative trying to disguise itself as a mystery to be solved.
With some minor tweaking of the story and the cast, this could have been a fairly decent crime movie. The direction is solid, the cinematography is excellent, the action scenes are refreshing, and there are a few twists that are handled fairly well. However, the end result is a film that is really only halfway there with many missed opportunities to maximize the suspense and push the boundaries.
